Tamarindo Surf School is the first of its kind founded in Costa Rica. Our unique teaching method is based on experience and knowledge acquired over years of study and surfing. All of our surf instructors are Ticos (local Costa Ricans). This means your surf lesson will not only be conducted by an experienced surf instructor who knows the local breaks, but one who will give you some exposure to the Costa Rican culture.
Our approach is simple, enthusiastic, and more than anything else: innovative! We guarantee that you will stand up and surf your first waves in just one lesson!! If you don't, the second lesson is free. We offer you not only our extensive experience and knowledge of surf conditions in the area, but the best surfboard and boogie board rentals.
We are located directly on Tamarindo beach, which has waves that are perfect for learning how to surf. Also, our location is only minutes from famous beaches like Avellanas, Playa Grande and Playa Negra. We also have trips available for experienced surfers who seek great adventures at the world renowned Roca Bruja "Witch Rock" and Ollie’s Point.
